Dr Mead was very realistic about how far he could go in treating my stomach problem and that any further major treatment involves more risk than benefit. He has moved my stomach from 10per cent effectiveness to 90 per cent so he's given my life back in terms of being able to eat. He and I agreed we should do one more gastroscopy yesterday to test for any cancer risk. I value the help he has given me..

I found Dr Mead to be most pleasant and very knowledgeable. I would have had waited for over a year to see him or another consultant within the NHS so wanted reassurance about my condition given that I had had a number of test in NHS before my GP wanted to refer me to see a specialist. He reassured me at the first consultation that my condition was unlikely to be very serious but an endoscopy would be needed to confirm this. This was carried out in a very considerate and professional manner

Dr Mead listened intently to my problem, understood my symptoms and asked appropriate questions. During the initial consultation, I felt extremely confident in his expertise with the problem I presented with. He explained his proposals for investigating the issue in a language I clearly understood. The day of my Gastroscopy he informed me fully of what to expect during the procedure and what he intended to do. As anxious as I was, he made feel at total ease with his approach to the procedure at hand. I feel very grateful that I have had the opportunity to be treated with such experienced consultant at a great facility.

Very helpful in fact after having a wrong diagnosis from the NHS he immediately said even without an examination I doubt very much you have that, it will be a “pancreatic rest” which is very common and harmless. He was proved right and I have complete confidence in him.
